I wanted to create a page on how I might process the creation of my work. I like to brainstorm for my concept but also really enjoy going with where things might take me. I believe some of the happiest accidents are the greatest designs. I believe in following a clients wishes but also helping them see at least one other option they might not think of in the beginning. Below are just a couple of processes that start from beginning to end.
PACKAGE DESIGN
With package design I like to really listen to what the client is looking for but also speak with the client on trends that are current. I believe that the client really needs their product to reflect them or the market they are trying to go after. I want to bring the client to a place that when I am done they say..."wow, thats me" or that they are confident it will reach the clientele or market they are after.
Nadina's Creme
Nadina's Cremes was a project that was done in pairs. I took the scent designs from my partner, applied the text and layout and created the labels and rack card design. I also created a box that would not only hold the jar that her product is stored in but created it so it used no additional packaging to hold it in the box. Nadina's being an eco friendly client adding packaging wasn't something she really wanted to do but felt that it was needed to help re-brand her product.
My partner designed the scent designs and the logo that was chosen.

Final Product
Once Client decides on final layout the final measurements and adjusted before production. The client changed the design to have the label wrap up and over the box to use as a sealing mechanism. The below are the designs that are awaiting for approval and final edits. The mock up label will be adjusted in size for the label to fit correctly on each size box. The box material will be determined by client.
Valerie's Culinary Syrup
Valerie's Culinary Syrup was a client that carried a syrup line in her gourmet company. She wanted to create a logo that would reflect an upscale but homemade feel. She wanted something that had an edge (why I chose black and white in the end), was easily recognizable, and her clientele would be excited to not only use the product but enjoy giving as gifts. Since her company provides many holiday and gift baskets across the country it needed to have a neutral feel at the same time.

OTHER DESIGN PROCESSES
TEXTILEThe client came to me and wanted a cross or "x" pattern. I drew up some ideas for her and then let her give me some feedback on what she did and didn't like. She told me she didn't like circles and so I removed the circles on the designs she liked. I then created a series of patterns that would work for her selections. She wanted to have both a green and yellow pattern for different mixing and matching.

PAINTINGSThis is a painting that I started as a smaller concept. I decided that I really enjoyed the concept and warmth of it but wanted to expand on it and go big, and change the painting color to have more of a contrast.
